ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wabeno Elementary Parents/Guardians,

PLEASE HELP! PHONES & TABLETS

We could use your help with phone and tablet expectations. If possible, please have your child keep their device at home. They are not allowed to use them at school, and therefore are not needed. Yet, they are causing issues on a regular basis for teaching staff, office personnel, and bus drivers.

Students are starting to keep their electronics in their backpacks, breaking our Student Handbook Agreement. The expectation listed in the Student Handbook states, "Personal electronic devices must be turned into the elementary office upon arrival at school and picked up at the end of each school day." We are also having issues with students taking pictures on the school bus. The student handbook states, "Using electronic devices to take photos is prohibited at ALL times, including on the bus." There have been a few other minor issues that we are working out, but leaving devices at home is the best option for students who do not have after-school activities that require home communication.

Please talk with your student about their device expectations. The best course of action is to have your child keep their phone/tablet/iPad at home because they are not allowed to use it at school anyway. If your child needs their device for after-school activity communication, please talk to them about being responsible with their device, which includes following school rules.

We are better together, so THANK YOU for your help with this matter!
